Laura Medina Flores
PhD student
Laura Medina Flores is currently a second year Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University pursuing the pediatric behavioral health and neuropsychology emphases. Her research interests center on understanding executive functioning, emotion granularity, and emotion regulation in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My clinical interests include providing culturally informed evidence-based interventions and comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Currently, she is a student therapist at The Clinics @ PAU and teaching assistant for the Ph.D. program statistics course sequence. Outside of PAU, she volunteers for a non-profit organization assisting with support groups for Spanish speaking parents of children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Her past experiences include being a social psychology research assistant, telephone crisis counselor, and behavior interventionist. Beyond clinic and research work, she enjoys hiking, visiting nearby beaches, and spending time with family and friends.
